| After the launch of studio album, ‘The great China Bike Ride’, we held a concert in the W5 Theatre at Belfast's Odyssey Complex. We filmed the launch and the concert and this CD and the accompanying DVD are the result. This CD contains live versions of the five songs on the studio album, with a full vocal version of 'Ar tir seo aguinne (Our Land)' - which on the first album is an instrumental version. There are also six new songs: ranging from the self-examining jig, 'Mirror, mirror'; and the more pop commentary of 'I heard it'; to the They said just because I'd gone to China, not to make a song about it - but having brought my guitar with me meant I became sort of official entertainer for the week, and as events unfolded, so ‘Ballad of Beijing’ came to be written. The album was originally recorded to raise funds for MenCap. | |||
